If you’re a Communications Service Provider (CSP), you may be confused about the FCC’s numerous Reports and Orders around compliance with STIR/SHAKEN and robocall mitigation mandates, and what you really need to do. That’s especially true if you received an extension to implement STIR/SHAKEN.
The bottom line is that all CSPs must document what actions they’ve taken in the FCC’s Robocall Mitigation Database (RMDB) or face the consequences. If you are non-compliant, as of September 28, 2021 other carriers were prohibited from accepting your calls.
