Neustar Names Scott Blake Harris as EVP Legal and External Affairs


Neustar, Inc. (NYSE: NSR ), a provider of market-leading innovative solutions and directory services to enable trusted communication across networks, applications, and enterprises around the world, has named Scott Blake Harris to be Executive Vice President, Legal and External Affairs. The appointment to this new position, which is effective March 14, was announced today by Lisa Hook, President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, to whom Mr. Harris reports. Mr. Harris has been serving as General Counsel of the United States Department of Energy.

In addition to serving as General Counsel of the Department of Energy, Mr. Harris was Co-Chair of the Broadband Subcommittee of the Administration's National Science and Technology Council.

Mr. Harris has practiced law in Washington D.C. for thirty-five years both in the private sector and in government. Prior to joining the Department of Energy, Mr. Harris was the Managing Partner of Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP, a nationally recognized law firm he founded in 1998. He has also been a partner in the law firms of Williams & Connolly LLP and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he headed the firm’s communications practice. Mr. Harris previously served in government from 1993 to 1996, first as Chief Counsel for Export Administration in the United States Department of Commerce, and then as the first Chief of the International Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission. Early in his career he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gerhard A. Gesell on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

He is a magna cum laude graduate of both Harvard Law School and Brown University.
